The little boy standing in front of Egypt's President Gamal Abdel Nasser is Ashraf Marwan.
In 1966, Marwan would marry Mona Nasser, Nasser's third daughter.
In the early 1970s, he volunteered to work for the Israeli Mossad and played a leading role in providing Israel with extraordinary military and other information about Egypt.
In 2002, I exposed Marwan as a double agent - a spy who misled Israel before the Yom Kippur War. In my book, The Spy Who Fell to Earth: My Relationship with the Secret Agent Who Rocked the Middle East, I described Ashraf Marwan as “the Jewel in the crown of the Egyptian deception plan before the Yom Kippur War”.
In 2007, Marwan died in mysterious circumstances after falling off the balcony of his London flat.
